Allan is one of the best lampworkers currently involved in the design and making of paperweights. He develops many wonderful pieces which range from being understated to beautifully complex.   Allan does not encase is own lampwork and the pieces available here are worked along with Shona Spittal at a studio which they use in the North of Scotland.

1567L	Flower Fairy. The three lampwork flowers have petals striped in shades of lavender within blue-green sepals on pale green stems which are set over a lower lampwork layer of leaves and stems in the same tones of green. The fairy in a white dress can be seen holding a small bunch of yellow buds. This is a drum shaped weight which Gordon Taylor has worked with a large concave facet to the full diameter of the top of the paperweight and eight broad finger shaped punties around the side. Containing both 'A' and 'S' signature canes and having a signed certificate this paperweight is scratch signed 'Flower Fairy Ed 1/1 2009 Allan Scott Shona Spittal' and has a diameter of 31/2" and a height of 21/4". 1566L	Alpine Meadow. Having two layers of lampwork, the lower layer has five deeply coloured striped lanceolate leaves and five yellow buds on pale green stems. The upper layer of lampwork holds three flowers of which the white petals have a pale blue flush emanating from the stamens and stigma and there are also five small gentian blue flowers all on individual stems. All in clear glass the lampwork is set over delicate mauve wisps. 1565L	Emerald Forest. Two white flowers with complex centres and five white buds all on pale green stems form the upper layer of the lampwork in this design by Allan. The lower lampwork layer consists of striped dark leaves on which the fairy with extended wings lies at rest. The set up is all over a mottled blue emerald translucent ground and has a large top facet with six ovoid punties around the side. 1564L	Bellflower Bouquet. Three panicles of white bellflowers make up the principle design in this paperweight. There are also two more in which the buds are depicted with pink exteriors emanating from a sheaf of green leaves. Set over a cobalt blue ground, the large top concave facet is surrounded by eight oval punties around the periphery of this weight. Containing both 'A' and 'S' signature canes and having a signed certificate this paperweight is scratch signed 'Bellflower Bouquet Ed 1/1 Allan Scott Shona Spittal 2009 GT' and has a diameter of 31/2" and a height of 21/4".	£360	1564L
1563L	First Flight. Flowers with striped pink petals and a blue green calyx are set over green leaves at the top of individual stems. Hovering at the top of this set up is a butterfly with wings in distinct shades of blue, spotted with yellow. The finishing touches are provided by the solid powdered ground over which it is all set and the eight ovoid punties which surround the top facet that has been shaped into an octagon by the small cuts around its circumference. 1562L	Crystal Pixie. One of Allan's superb floral creations having three pink flowers and three white flowers with individual stems and leaves. The lampwork is encased on two different levels and on the lower level there is the hidden surprise of a pink pixie with crystal wings. The facetting on this paperweight has been expertly done by Gordon Taylor with a large top facet and six peripheral punties each of which is separated by a fine grooved finger cut and the base of the weight is diamond cut which enhances the manner in which Allan and Shona have put this piece of art together. Containing both 'A' and 'S' signature canes and having a signed certificate this paperweight is scratch signed 'Crystal Pixie Ed 1/1 Allan Scott Shona Spittal' and has a diameter of 31/2" and a height of 25/8".
